old longines watch

Hi, I have been trying to find any information on this watch. I can not even find one that is similar, So any help would be great. The back of the movement say Longines watch co. Swiss seventeen 17 Jewels unadjusted 9980407 19.4 LXW. The back of the case says 925 FS 3 the clasp of the band says 925 FS germany and this is a very heavy watch, weight of 3oz on my postal scale. The pictures came out looking like gold but it is tarnished silver. Thank you in advance.

You have a 1956 Longines watch with a sterling silver (.925) case and bracelet and a caliber 19.4 17-jewel manual wind movement. The unsigned case looks to be original, but is considered a "contract case" since it isn't signed by Longines.

Auction value in the condition shown is probably $100-$150.

Thank you very much for your time and the information. Is there a book that tells about watches? Also do you know what FS means? Thanks again!
