Hello, I'm hoping someone can give me some info on this Gruen watch, maybe age or if it's a newer one.
Totally blank face except for 'GRUEN SWISS' on the very bottom.
Marked on the back 'GRUEN STERLING SILVER .925' no marks inside the case.
The movement is marked 'GRUEN WATCH CO SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS UNADJUSTED SWISS' and '318' in an oval.
The band is all one solid piece to the frame of the watch and it's marked 'STERLING' on the box clasp.
I tested the metal in several areas and it is sterling.
Works great !
Any ideas of age ?
Date would be about 1970. There is little interest in unfashionable women's watches at present, as women don't collect watches, they just accumulate them over the years.
It is a well made watch in about $30 worth of precious metal, I'd list it with the decent pictures you have and see what happens with a 99c. start.
Or file it way for a decade or so, things do come back in fashion.
when I was poking around for my Ofair watch, found a similar one in the Nadine Krakov collection by Ebel, dated 1970's
Had a nice price but was gold and diamonds
