If I have canceled a transaction, does the buyer receive a refund?

I recently sold an item and realized that I could not ship it the way I specified. In order to ship it properly I had to cancel the transaction and relist the item. The buyer agreed to cancel, but now does not want to re-buy it, do they automatically get a refund for their purchase?

No, you have to go PayPal find that particular transaction and click on issue refund.

In order to get your fvf back, you should also forward a request to cancel transaction to your buyer, once they agree, eBay would credit your fvf back to your account.

Login to PayPal, find the transaction, click on Details and halfway down the page is the Refund Link.

Use it.

You should have done so before sending the cancellation.

Never rely on eBay nor emails for accurate payment information.
