no---but media is extremely perfect to use for heavy books, i have used it in the past and even tho they can take longer, mine always arrived to the buyers within 2 weeks.

NO

But why would you consider using media mail for anything at all?

As a shipper on ebay, you should use ebay shipping, and it is nearly always about the same price to use regular priority mail as it is for media mail or parcel post (often even cheaper)....and WAY faster. We get a nice discount from the USPS for regular priority mail, but next to no discount for media mail or parcel post.

Media Mail is appropriate in many situations. That's why many sellers use it. The slowest of MM is highly exaggerated.

According to USPS site:

The material sent must be educational media. It can’t contain advertising, video games, computer drives, or digital drives of any kind.

Media Mail® can be examined by postal staff to determine if the right price has been paid. If the package is wrapped in a way that makes it impossible to examine, it will be charged the First-Class™ rate.
