What is the 'other charges' for on FEDEX shipping charge for?

I am sending a unit I sold through FedEx, but when I go to print the lable I notice it gives me a price for shipping and then adds $3.50 for 'other charges'. I do not see anywhere where it explains what the other charges are for and can't get rid of it either. Does someone know what is this for and if I can do away with it?

Thanks

The same thing happened to me, so I entered the information directly on the FedEx website and viewed the detail as did alces_de.   Got the same extra charge ($3.50)  is for "DAS Extended Resi".    My shipment was going to a remote part of Idaho.

Didn't mean to revive an old thread, but I missed his answer on first glance.  Sorry!

Just got the same $3.50 charge. No real clue

It's not fuel, that's already in there.

The $3.50 brings the total charge about in line with what UPS charges for the same shipment with the ebay discount on the account.

When comparing to the calculated charge directly in Fedex, there is also the residential surcharge of $2.80, plus a "DAS Extended Resi" of $3.50, which is a Delivery Area Surcharge, so I guess a "rural punishment".
