Pine Lake. About 5 miles north west of Gravenhurst in the Muskokas.
No pike, but lots of small mouth and large mouth.

Well, Well, Well!, Brought something backhere that shouldn't have left. Thanks Robin, if this thread is ever to get off the deck and fly on it's own, we need all the subject matter that pertains to it in one location. Matters not if it's fishing hunting camping hiking mountain climbing or deep sea diving, lets keep it here!
I for one love to hear of anyones adventures out in the pines!!

Going walleye fishing this weekend, will take my digital camera and post some pictures here if I catch any. Going to Clear Lake in North Central IA, so you won't be hearing from me for 3 days.

Well I'm back, the walleye fishing was a bust, the DNR creel counter hasn't seen a walleye in a long time. But the yellow bass were biting real good. Fished a couple hours in the morning and we would catch about 30 of them. That's enough filleting for me. I guess I had better head to WI or MN soon to catch some walleyes.

Tears and more tears, I was really waiting to hear about the big set of eyes that ripped off the tramson of the boat, ate the motor, and chased you guys off the water. TeeHeeHee

lazy4fs, I used to live in Iowa, know the Clear Lake area pretty well, but never caught much there. Wisconsin has some great lakes for fishing, as does Minnesota, but you gotta find the ones that aren't all fished out there. Caught a bunch of Walleyes up in NorthEast Minnesota one labor day. Where are you in Iowa? I lived in Sioux City, and Cedar Rapids, and have relatives all over the eastern part of the state. My brother lives in Wisc. and is a naturalist. He knows where all the good ones are up there.

The biggest fish I ever caught was a 120lb halibut out of Homer, AK. I weighed 115 at the time, but got it to the top of the water. Had to have the guys bring it in the boat, though. What a kick that was, but got kind of sick of eating halibut after awhile. Good thing it's a mild fish, lots of ways to fix it.

Happy fishing to all of you!

I live in Maquoketa, if you lived in C.R., I'm sure you know where it is. My brother worked for the WI DNR, would tell me where to fish, he aslo worked last summer for Alaska DNR, sent back a lot of halibut, not tired of eating it yet though. Use to go fishing at Itasca every year, where u live now?
