A picture to illustrate bostongrammy's answer follows. If you do not see something like that on ebay's main page, try a different browser.

You can remove them all you want, but they'll come back.
It's an age old advertising technique, and it's eBay's web site.
They are there because eBay wants them there.
Create a desktop icon to your My eBay page, and don't even go to the home page.

Pi has the best answer to this that I've seen. Just remember to do that every time you are leaving eBay.
Granpa's will work just as well if every family member will enter eBay through your portal every time.

The ONLY thing you can do is - after you log out of ebay - you must DELETE all cookies, CLEAR your browser history and DELETE all temp internet files.
AND you should find and use the TELL US WHAT YOU THINK link that is on about every ebay page and TELL EBAY you DO NOT WANT THEM to keep / show that information.
