I have a lady supposedly selling a car with no listing on ebay but she is trying to tell me its in storage at warehouse 29 in Montgomery AL.

Ebay does not have warehouses, agents or anything else
They do not handle payments.

You think it's a con? It is absolutely a con!
Cars in "ebay warehouses" are among the more popular of scammer's lies.
Scammers will tell you anything to convince you that the transaction is "safe". And they will come up with numerous excuses of why you cannot view the item, when the truth is they do not possess the item that you think you will get.
The con men will convince you to pay by a method that is not reversible, such as Western Union or MoneyGram. Once they have the money they are never heard from again.
Then the victim waits and waits, becoming frustrated that the car, boat, trailer, whatever is not delivered.
Be smart and do not deal with scammers.

You've been on eBay 11 years and you don't know that it is nothing more than a venue for advertising your items to sell? They don't take part in ANY sales. No warehouses or car lots or show rooms...nada. Does this seller have the letters SCAM in her ID? She should.

Use your head- do you know what it costs to ship an automobile in a CONTAINER? Way more than just driving it up on an auto carrier to be hauled across country, which is also very expensive. So if YOU were selling a vehicle would you pay the shipping to get it to a buyer that has the option to change their mind and return it at your expense? No, you would not. NOBODY does that. Try it before you buy it-YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!
It's a CLASSIC scam. Did you find this car on Craigslist? Didn't you read the warnings before you can view the cars and trucks for sale there?

We knew as soon as you said "no listing on eBay" this was a scam.
The further instructions will likely involve you wiring funds (which will not be recoverable).

Yes, it's a common scam called the "Kubota Tractor Scam".
Report the person to whichever site you got the ad from

If you can spell SCAM, SCRAM!
Ebay does not operate this way.....There's no Mr. Jones. Only a Mr. Lucky if you continue to communicate and a Mr. Happy if you send any money...

It is most definitely a scam, do not fall for it!
If anything, I'd report that to eBay themselves, but do NOT give this person any money.
SBM-ventures is completely right, eBay does NOT have Warehouses, Agents or anything like that! eBay is a site made up on individual sellers.
eBay makes it's money off of seller fees they charge their individual sellers, not by selling things themselves!

Hi,First of all thank you for your interest. The car is in perfect condition, no electric problems, no accidents/liens/loans. No scratches, never been repainted. I have all the car manuals, title, documents. I'm selling this car because my child of only 24 died 4 months ago in a car accident, a drunk driver hit him and his fiancee. He was with his fiance's car coming to our home at his little brother birthday of 16 years old. The car belonged to my son and it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it. The final price is $1,780.Me and my husband travel a lot with our business and we want to make this deal through eBay Protection Program. We will take care of the shipping so don't worry. If you have any other questions, or need more info, please free to ask.We hope to hear soon from you. Here you have some pictures uploaded

This the next stage of the SCAM,Hi again ,My car is located at eBay's warehouse in Mobile,Alabama. It's already sealed and waiting to be delivered anywhere since someone agree to buy it but at the end he never got the money. I already paid the shipping for him as he was out of state (for this reason the shipping is included) Also the price is small $1,780 because i need money fast for my research and really don't have time to negotiate. All the documents including the title and the bill of sale will come along with the car and it will take no more than 2-3 days to arrive at your address. The transaction will be made through eBay Motors because they can protect both of us and they also offer 5 days inspection period. You'll have 5 days to test the car before decided to keep it or not. If the car is not like I described you'll ship it back on my expense and they will give you a full refund. eBay will hold the funds until you receive the car. Only after you confirm them that you wanna keep it they will release me the funds. In this way you will be able to inspect the vehicle before committing to buy it.If you want to start the transaction with eBay reply me your full name and full shipping address then a eBay will contact you with more instructions by e-mail.Thank you.
