How do I know when the buyer has paid for the item?

How do I know when the buyer has paid for the item? I don't want to ship it until they pay and nothing's showing in my paypal. When I went to print the shipping label, a message came up saying ebay does not suggest printing the label until the buyer has paid.

Do not ship until you see the payment transaction in your Paypal account

 

and when you click on the details link for this transaction, Paypal says it is OK to ship.

 

Ship only to the address provided by Paypal.  This shipping address should be the same one that appears on the eBay Order Details page after payment has been made.

 

Buyers select their shipping address when they make payment, so never print your shipping labels before payment has been received.

 

Since the payment for the iPhone will be $250 or more, be sure to ship using Signature Confirmation.  This is required for Seller Protection.  You might also want to insure the package against loss or damage

 

And NEVER RELY ON eMAILS FOR PAYMENT STATUS.  They can be faked by scammers..

Good that you noticed eBay's message.

 

Do not ship until you see payment has been deposited into your PayPal Account.

 

Usually you will get a notification from eBay of the instant transfer but always check in PayPal to make sure.
