I WON AN ITEM BUT I GOT IT AD A SURPRISE GIFT AND NO LONGER WANT TO BUY IT

I bid on shoes expecting to buy them but my father brought the same pair of shoes home to me as a gift. The first thing I did was go to retract my bid but seeing as the auction had less than 12 hours left I couldn't retract the bid; eBay wouldn't allow it. I've talked to the seller and she said "okay well you have to open a case to cancel the transaction so that i do not get charged for the fees.im sorry but its not fair to me to pay fees for something you are not paying for. let me know once you send it and i will respond. thank you". Which is completely understandable, I don't want her to get charged. How do I cancel the transaction?

Tell her to go to the resolution center and open a case for a cancellation request on the transaction.

When you receive it, agree to the cancellation.

She will have her fees refunded, and you will be off the hook.

Bid retractions (last 12 months): 2

Oh so you wanted another invalid Bid Retraction on your record?

Tell the seller you will agree to the cancellation request. She just has to submit it to eBay.
