reserve not met, I was highest bidder, and still offered more than the closing price. Should I have gone up on my offer till reserve met.

I wanted item and would have gone up on my offer a little higher to get reserve met.

I agree, if you were willing to go higher. bet you highest amount .It wont increase till its needed. As in meeting the reserve if you had bet your highest amount you might have won (or maybe noe)

Yes, you should always go to the highest amount you are willing to pay.  that's how you increase your chances to win the auction.  You could contact the seller and ask if they plan to relist.

- Give details - esp item numbers. It's hard to answer vague questions
- Use complete sentences and paragraphs - it's easier to read
- If you want to add more details, use the options/edit link on the bottom left of your post.

Well, yes. If you wanted the item, you should have bid higher to try to meet the Reserve.

I don't understand - if you were willing to go higher, why didn't you? There's never a good reason to withhold your best bid.
