When an ebay auction has 1 hour or less to go, the countdown timer should be working at that auction page, if not try click on the bid box without makeing a bid, then you should see the countdown going and still be able to make your bid.

The countdown on the Item Page does not run if there is still a BIN button on the listing or there is more than an hour left in the auction.

Other than that the problem would be with your computer.  The countdown is not particularly useful or accurate, anyway.  It is NOT a real-time feed of bids coming in and the clock running down:  it is a script that runs on your computer calling for updates about every 3 seconds and using your computer's clock to count down from when the "time remaining" from the last succesful (not all updates are succesful) update loads in your computer's memory, which can be quite some time after that information is sent from eBay.  AND if you are using information on new bids to determine how much you will bid, that is a bad strategy and the information is even more out of date than the time (since it takes at least a fraction of a second for eBay to process a bid to make the result of that bid available to the server updating your countdown, and a bid is timely if received before the end, it doesn't have to be processed early enough for you to see it before the end).

I see the timer not counting down on the listing pages, you have to continually refresh the page. But click on the place bid button and that page does work

Might be a temporary glitch.

Mine is working fine. Are you trying to use a countdown timer on one of your own listings? Doesn't work that way unless you sign out, then enter the item number in the search box while signed out.

The timer works in the last hour of the auction if you are looking at it as a bidder.

It does not work if you, as a seller,  are watching your own auctions end.

If it is not working then clear the cache and history, dump the cookies and restart your computer.

See if that fixes the problem.

If not, try another browser.
