Yes, I consigned an Indian basket to Skinner's Auction company, a couple of years ago.
I took the basket to be appraised by a Mr. Doug Deihl, and found him to be very professional.
He said the basket was exceptional, and as it was fresh to the market (it had been in my collection 25 years).,.he would waive some of the seller's fee...:-D.
I was charged only 8%, and the basket bought close to $30.000..
I would highly recommend Skinner's.
I have also recently consigned items with Steve O'Brian, at the Copely Auction House, and was treated very well.
However, he wasn't so generous, and charged me the usual 22% to sell my items..
I like the idea of consigning to an auction house...
You don't have to worry about someone filing a SNAD, and they do all the leg-work and all the worrying..
I just sat back and waited for my check to arrive in the mail..B-)

A fellow McM dealer suggested this one. Then the follow dealer offered me $9k not knowing and assuming that I would not do me do diligence. The only auction piece i have done was a southern pottery jug, so was looking for a MCM known house.

Can you post a photo of your item..?
I'm sure the furniture folks here will want to see it..
By the way, did you auction your jug with Crocker Farms.?
They are probably the best auction company I have ever dealt with.
I consigned three nice stoneware crocks with them about five years ago, and as they had a 'pick-up' service, I waited until they were scheduled to be here in Massachusetts, and met their truck just outside Boston, where I was able to hand over my crocks.
It was a relief not having to worry about shipping them...which is really half the battle when trying to get precious items to the auction house in one piece.:-).

I probably should have. I contacted them (crockerfarms) for a evaluation, and they balked at it. So I went with Daniel auction in southern Georgia. It met the minimum over the phone. Kind of disappointed.

Sorry, but for some reason I thought you were asking about MCM furniture.
Okay, I looked up those beautiful chandeliers...
I found a small one that sold at Bonham's, the auction house I suggested earlier..here's the link.

Hmm.....I notice that the chandelier I linked to that sold at Bonham's was 40" x 25"..quite large....and was appraised at $15,000.
Yours is the same size, and they gave you an appraisal of $30,000.?
This is not my area of expertise, and while they are both lovely, I am curious why the difference in the appraisal.?
