What type of bed?

Helping family friend liquidate estate & having no success identifying this bed. Maybe not antique at all but certainly vintage. Full size. Odd squared connectors on rails. Have googled every term I can think of to no avail.......any help is much appreciated.

The boards and supports look much older than that. I would guess it to be 1850-1860s, but it's impossible to tell from the photos. Dimensions (for the mattress, of course) also is a great way to date these pieces. Any one interested in investigating antiques should first purchase a good tape measure and find some one to teach them how to use it.

I would want to inspect it up close, see the turning and the supplemental wood and joinery. Unfortunately the OP has provided poor photographs.
