Help ID'ing this necklace-Bakelite?

I've had this necklace for a long time.  Not even sure where it came from.  I've checked the internet for something similar, but it's hard to do as I don't even know what it is!  Chuckle.  I'm not sure if the orange beads are bakelite or jade or plastic (doesn't feel like plastic tho)?

Any information or suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!!

Bakelite is a possibility, perhaps even amber. Be aware of doing any testing that may harm one or the other. (Although, not much will harm bakelite except a hot pin.)

The metal beads are interesting, knowing what they are might help date it. If you don't get an answer here try these folks

The group is very active there.

Thanks so much, that's a good idea (beads group).  I have a friend who is a jewelry fanatic.  She said she thought it might be copal (African amber) and that the metal beads may be sterling.  I don't know if you can see in the pictures, but the bumpy beads are molded as I can see a ridge.  Anyway, I want to sell it but want the information correct ... thanks again!!

Your beads look like copal. Here is a link you may find helpful, tells you how to test it. http://www.milestonesamber.com.au/tell-your-amber-real-i-28.html
