eBay's Believe It or Not, Tales From the Field!

The Part Timers Forum used to have an on-going thread about posts that were odd/funny/stooopid/contained weird CS answers ~ or just generally considered silly or outrageous.  The OP of the thread was "the medic", so while the PT group is still kickin', I thought it would be fun to start another similar thread.

Readers, if you run across a post, comment, feedback, etc., that is "off the beaten path", please add it to this thread.  I read the community almost every day and will contribute when something catches my eye. Just something to break up the boredom of listing, revising, answering questions, and working around the eBay listing glitches Smiley Surprised ~ or waiting for something to sell Smiley SurprisedSmiley SadSmiley Surprised

Well, fly, after seeing the picture you posted of the huge fish you caught, I am having a hard time imagining you wearing Oprah's Louboutins....but I guess if Lady Gaga can, so can you!

But I really need to replace my daily, everyday, all-the-time. go-to shoes ... I thought that the Blue and Silver Louboutins (I'm at least learning how to spell it) would go nicely with my beat-up "sweats-and-a-tee" uniform 🙂

They are actually a pair of men's mocs, because I couldn't find a pair of women's that weren't all Gussied Up with bright pink or other hideous bows and girly stuff 😞

hmmmm, remember the eBay suggestion to start your auctions at 99¢....the suggestion that seasoned sellers laughed at?  Well, if you are Oprah, it works just fine!

Shop Oprah’s Closet
Your chance to raid Oprah’s closet is here, and you could take home designer finds like her Alexander McQueen wrap dress, plus a pair of autographed Christian Louboutin platform pumps—with all proceeds benefitting girls’ education.

Oh puhleese, Oprah selles here too? I am not exactly a fan of Miss O. I mean who-what-why would a person put themselves on the cover of their own magazine every freeking issue?? All her cover shots are so air brushed they're more like portraits and I don't know when the cover photo was taken on this picture but they've managed to slim her down about 8 sizes, oy. Ok, my O rant is done.

Hi, blue ~ tell us how you really feel about Oprah! laughing emo.gif Kim K. also sells her stuff on eBay supposedly for charity.....bet that made your blood pressure go up even more!  wink emo.gif

From a brand new eBay seller having problems with their first sale:

You shouldn't have to start anti-anxiety meds just to be an Ebay Seller after all!

An example of eBay's brilliant wording on an email sent to advertise eBay Sellers sales:

0% Off Hurry! Your watched item is now on sale.  RollingEyesSmiley5.gif

This just struck me funny, so thought I would share!

A poster was having a problem with downloading a picture ~ this problem crops up continually on the boards, along with all kinds of "computer" related problems and the #1 answer is usually ~ delete cookies and cache, etc. ~ trite, but tried and true, however, I really like this new spin on that time worn phrase:

Or maybe you need to toss your cookies (but please wait until I get out of the room)  Smiley Wink

"Two INR cases opened buy a non paying buyer - how is this possible?"

Answer:  Because it's eBay!  Seller finally prevailed and won the cases but it took numerous phone calls to CS and 5 days!

eBay's Believe It or Not, Tales From the Field!

I saw a lot of these, mentioned in thread, when they happened. Love your eye rolling emoticon. I may have to borrow that, sometime.

The new trend seems to be people crabbing about shipping cost. I think three threads in just the past couple of days.

Here's my contribution. Seller is telling buyer's if they leave a neg or neutral feedback, the warranty is voided. Then they have this most ridiculous disclaimer on every add. Not only do they say their items have no warranty (so the neg/next thing is cowchips) but they disavow their entire listing!

"MUST READ!!! Acknowledgement of the following DISCLAIMER is required before making a purchase: Esmarton and its products are by no means affiliated with Apple, Blackberry, Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, AT&T, Sprint, Tmobile, Verizon or any of its subsidiaries. Our parts are NOT refurbished, offered or authorized by its manufactures. ***We make no representations or warranties of any kind,*** express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the listing or the information, products, services, or related graphics contained on the listing for any purpose. We will not be held responsible for any misuse or misrepresentations of our products conducted by buyers"

So, nothing in their listing can be counted on? "Oh, you expected to get the item in the picture? Didn't you read our disclaimer about graphics?" 😱
