Once upon a time, the RIVER in Matawan, NJ had a great white SHARK. The series of shark attacks on the NJ shore in the summer of 1916 were the inspiration for the movie Jaws. Okay, so it's really a creek not a river which is even more incredulous, but I like my word association regardless.
