So, I sold a couple of items about 2 weeks ago, and went to print shipping labels one evening, and to my surprise it seems that shipping labels had already been printed. Am I losing my mind? Did I print these in my sleep one night? Not so. I clicked on the little shipping tab and it seems someone hacked into my account and managed to print 16 International Overnight Shipping tickets for 3 different sales to my account for the tune of $2900.00. Aside from that, there were now 16 different members across the US that somehow were linked directly to my Ebay account, so when you print a shipping label anyone of these 16 names would appear as the return address. Oh, and on top of this I have had 2 cases against me due to the mix-up in the all these shipping labels, and of course it wiped out my Top Rated Seller and Powerseller status, dropped my DSR's, and now I have had limitations put on my selling account on Ebay, and of course they won't work with me to get these cases closed and my TRS and PS status reinstated. After 8 years on Ebay, and over 1300 Positive feedbacks, I am nailed because of a hacker and Ebay won't do anything for me. BS!
So of course I freaked out as Ebay is connected to my Paypal account and my Paypal account is linked to my personal bank account, and I find that since of course there wasn't $2900.00 in my Paypal account it hit my personal bank account and they surely did take $2900.00 from me. I call Ebay in a panick at 11pm that night, I get hooked up with what they call a "SECURITY SPECIALIST" who barely spoke English and the best they could say is we will look into it and I should change my password immediately (YOU THINK)???? They then tell me to call Paypal as it is out of there hands. So next I call Paypal and I'm on the phone with them for 2 hours. Same thing, they will investigate, and stop the payments on all these shipping charges. TOO LATE, they have already come out of my bank account. So after 2 hours with Paypal, they tell me it is out of there hands and I need to contact my bank and talk to them. I ended up having to close all my accounts in my bank and with Paypal and I'm out $2900.00 hoping it will get resolved and I will get my money back, and still Ebay can't help with who hacked into my account.
I think as others say in there postings, Ebay and Paypal could really care less about most of us as long as they keep collecting there fee's from us.
I guess people should watch there accounts closely. If it happened to me, it could happen to you, and don't count on Ebay or Paypal to bend over backwards in an instance like this to help me or YOU!
So now I went and purchased an item on Ebay the other day and realized that I can't pay for it because I disconnected my personal account from Paypal. I will be a cold day in HE** before I link my personal account to Paypal again after this matter. I guess I will have to see if I can send a money order to the sellers to pay for my items. I could care less if Ebay doesn't like it or want people to send money orders for items purchased.
BE CAREFUL EVERYONE!!!

A while back I whent to log onto my e-Bay account and I was not allowed access, my account didn't exist. I called ebay and notified them, and was told that my log in info had been changed, I didn't do this. After further investigation I noticed paypal had deducted $500.00 from my bank account to pay ebay a transaction fee for $9000.00 worth of items that they say I sold, which I hadn't.... I spent 2 hours on the phone with them, (e-bay ) being transferred it seems like all over the world ( judging from accents ) and some of these people are very hard to understand. I was ultimately told that my account was not hacked and that it was up to me to make good with buyer that paid $9000.00 for god knows what. Paypal has also denied a refund because ebay told them that I was not hacked...
I am a single parent with combat related injuries and on a fixed income. Can someone please tell me how to get my money back and get my account reinstated ?????. And F.Y.I I am using my sons account

Some info needs to be sorted out.
If your account sold 9 grand worth of somethings......it has to exist because it takes 30 to 45 days to close an account after a sale.
The $500 for $9000 sales doesn;t sound right either and it'll look like chump change if those buyers start filing INR claims against you for items they're expecting....!!!
You'd think Pay - we are not your - Pal would know who was getting PAID for those sales ???.........if not you !

Hi, mattmart ~ Sounds like you have a real mess on your hands, and
komo is right, you do need help! You may want to start a new thread
for your problem so it will be seen by more posters with possible solutions or answers.
You should also post your question on the Trust and Safety (Safe Harbor) board ~ here is the link:
http://community.ebay.com/t5/Trust-Safety-Safe-Harbor/bd-p/2107
In the meantime, I would call PayPal again and ask to speak with a
supervisor ~ same with eBay ~ ask for Trust and Safety and don't take
no for an answer.

Interesting thread. (to say the least). I have two comments. 1. Don't link your bank account to paypal. Not ever for any reason. Yeah I know you pay a fee for withdrawals, but it's nothing compared to having you bank account raided. 2. If what happened to the OP is real it's almost certainly something that happened to him locally and nothing to do with eBay security issues. If you leave your self unprotected you're going to get infected at some point. If you use public computers for monetary trasactions, you're just begging for it.I too, am curious that the OP never mentioned all of the email notifications that he should have received?

I just recently bought an item and somehow a shipping address on the other side of the U.S. with a Vietnamese name was in my account, that Ebay says (the address) doesn't even exist. I've talked to both them and paypal over and over. I got my money back from paypal. THe thing is, I wanted the item and they still have not been able to determine how it was hacked. They kept mentioning a change on a certain date and something about the Netherlands. I have refused to correct the address as I don't want to tamper with the scene of the crime until they figure something out. The seller was told he had to pay the shipping costs for the item to be returned to him. What a mess. I spent hours on the phone with ebay, and every person had an indian accent and couldn't seem to understand the issue and kept saying repetitive script statements.

Get back on the phone and you reply....I can't understand you, please connect me with an american rep !
REPEATEDLY....

How about defects to ebay for this?

Ok I had a friend call me she was totally in a panic about 8 months ago. She only sold small amouts of stuff for extra money.
Heres the tale. She went to the super market she used her debit card from here bank. It was like a 30 buck pruchase and it was declined so she used a credit card. When she got home she checked her bank account.
And it was empty she had about 1700 in the account. She saw Pay pal trasactions that sucked her dry.
Heres how I fixed the problem for her hope it helps if you have the same problem.
1 I called pay pal and talked to a rep (she had to talk to them to OK me talking to them.) Pay Pal flagged her account . After talking with them they sucked all the funds back as it had been spent with sellers on ebay.
2 had her call the bank they were of no help
3 Called pay pal agin asking them to hold the money as she was opening a new bank account (which 4 days latter pay pal deposited the funds into they were great) Pay pal account info passwords were changed
4 She Opened new back account I lent her some money to cover all the bills she had going out.
5 Closed old bank account
6 She got a new email
7 called ebay Changed ebay passwords and email (they were great about it)
8 I went to best buy and purchased her a new laptop with virus protection Klpsky, trashed old laptop
The cause of the hack was the hart bleed virus it has been around for 2 years you need to change all your passwords for everything when this happens. Also if you have a savings account make shur to have bank not allow eletronic transfers. Also set up a seperate checking for your use with paypal on ebay. I don't know if all banks have this but to be able to check or use my bank accounts online. You log into the bank them they call you with computer voice with a pass code to check your accounts it's well worth having.
also never use the computer you use for your ebay and banking to play face book or other online games thats where the virus gets in most of the time. Clear your cookies alot and run your virus scan alot.
